Bubba Show was lucky enough to talk to the Director Of Marketing and Development of Pittsburgh Pride, Christine Bryan this morning.
She is super excited about the upcoming beautiful weekend forecasted for Pittsburgh Pride’s two day event in town.
Mayor Luke Ravenstahl just came out this week in support of gay marriage. His heart and mind has changed and he is in support of gay marriage and a big supporter of Pittsburgh Pride. Perfect timing and more great news for the great event this weekend.
Christine has told us that last year we had over 70,000 people at the event in town and she is expecting record numbers. She said “We have over 23 states representing the event this year and with Melissa Etheridge performing Saturday night we expect way more.”
Melissa Etheridge performing this year is actually the FIRST time she has ever performed at a gay pride event. Christine said “We expect huge surprises from Melissa this year.”
Listen to the whole interview and the great events planned here.
Tickets are available for that show still and there are many many free events on Sunday. For all the details check it out here.
Christine also said that “without Mayor Luke’s help in our city with this event it would be nothing.” Liberty Avenue basically is shut down..a major artery in Pittsburgh for the event this weekend.
