Bruno Mars is so hot right now…His new CD, Unorthodox Jukebox, is being released December 11th and if you saw him on Saturday Night Live this past weekend, you saw that he was BRILLIANT!
Bruno told Bubba Show that doing SNL was an extreme challenge, “That’s kind of why I did it. I’ve never acted before, I’ve never spoken on camera before like that and I’ve never worked with, you know, these guys are serious comedian and serious actors.”
He told Bubba Show that live TV is not really his thing because he wants his performances to be so good, “You know there’s so many factors that can go wrong and you can’t really do it again. It’s become a fear of mine, live TV. But I signed up to do this just to basically look fear in the eyes.”
Since the cast & crew have less than a week to prepare a new show, you would think they’d get in a lot of rehearsal time. Not so says Bruno.
“Not as much [rehearsal time] as I thought we were gonna have. You go in on Monday to meet everybody and everyone’s like ‘we’ll get to work on Tuesday, we’ll start working on Tuesday. Then you go on Tuesday and everyone’s like, yeah man, Wednesday. Wednesday’s when it kinda gets serious.”
Even with rehearsals, Bruno says they’re changing things at the last second and the live show is now always the way it was at rehearsal.
Just before Bubba Show hung up the phone with Bruno, they asked him to fulfill a dream for one of the show hosts. Bruno and Melanie sang together. Then Melanie sang to Bruno. Go ahead and listen – it was magical.
