Melanie’s Holiday Savings With Pittsburgh Frugal Mom

Can you believe it is November 1st!!  UGH!  Crunch time!  Thanks to Bubba Show friend, Dana Vento, who is Pittsburgh’s Frugal Mom.  Look at her great website here.

Before we get to some of the FREE events for this weekend, let’s start with some of Dana’s great ideas for savings!

Have you heard of ebates? You can select a store you want to shop in and just SHOP!  Each store offers different percentages back on every purchase so you spend, but SAVE!  You can see sites like RETAILMENOT for FREE shipping coupons because you can still use them when you check out at your favorite store through EBATES.

How about trying to save with credit cards that pay you a percentage back as you spend (there are some out there according to Dana) and you may even know of a few.

Visit your local grocery retailer, you can purchase gift cards to the stores of choice and earn discounts towards your fuel!  I adore this and do it with two local stores since I travel 52 miles round trip a day!  Love it!

There are some coupon sites for online shops too!  RetailmeNot, CouponChief and more!  You need to check out all coupon details she said first and if they haven’t expired and you meet the purchase requirements it should help you save!  If  you don’t have a coupon and you don’t have major credit card that pays you a percentage back each time you spend, you will still earn money back as you spend because this is based on the amount you spend at the online store!  Getting cash back for every purchase really adds up over a period of time and this is the season to buy Dana says!  Online may be the way to go for me this year.   You too?

Here is some FREE stuff!

The Home Depot workshop for kids is November 2nd.  Check out the FREE fun here.

Don’t forget your IKEA family card.  Do you have one?  Well, you can get FREE coffee every time you shop and the kids get an extra 30 minutes in Smaland.  Look at it here.

On November 2nd in Mt. Lebanon there is a GREAT event at the library.  It is happening from 9:30-10am.  If you speak Russian or understand Russian there will be a Russian storytime with native speaker Masha Rowley.  This would be good for little kids up to the age of 7.  Bring your families!  Check out all the details here.

You can also learn to speak Spanish with the Mount Lebanon library on November 3rd.  You must pre register.  Pre schoolers can start to learn and this would be great for ages 3-6!  It is November 9:30-10am.  Look here.
