Dear Scott:

I was in line at a convenience store last night and noticed a $20 bill on the floor at the feet of the person paying. I didn’t see that person drop it so I assumed it was someone before him. Several more people in line passed by it before I got to the counter where I reached down and picked it up. The person behind me said I should have given it to the cashier since it might have belonged to someone who would come back for it. Since we don’t know who dropped it, isn’t it “finders keepers?”
