Selena Quintanilla-Pérez is going back on tour– as a hologram in 2018. Her family has been in close quarters working on the deal with Acrovirt LLC (per E Online) to create a singing, dancing version of the legendary Latin pop star.
Selena was shot dead by her friend & the president of her fan club in 1995, when Selena was just 23 years old. The death of such a young, rising singer rocked the world and two years after a movie about her life, Selena, would be released with Jennifer Lopez taking her role.
I’m not so sure how I feel about a hologram tour. I don’t know why but it just feels sketchy to me. I am a big supporter of letting those who have passed rest. Selena was a beautiful and talented young lady, why not let her be remembered as just that?
On the website for ‘Selena The One’, the description mentions that the tour will release new songs and collaborations with new hit artists.
How exactly does that happen?? Are these songs that Selena recorded before she died or are they going to be creating them in a lab? Are we going to hear Selena and Jason Derulo? SO. MANY. QUESTIONS.
I can’t be the only one having awkward feelings about this. What do you think? Cool or creepy? -@KelOnAir
