Demi Lovato’s comments about Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” music video have brought out the trolls, and as a result it seems as though Lovato is ready for a break.

“So excited for 2017. Taking a break from music and the spotlight.. I am not meant for this business and the media,”she tweeted today (October 4) along with an emoji waving goodbye. That comment comes after Twitter users chastised her for claiming that Swift’s video for “Bad Blood” was meant to tear Katy Perry down. Lovato made the comment in an interview with Glamour and later defended the statement on Twitter, telling her followers that she wasn’t going to apologize but to keep in mind that some things get taken out of context.

Lovato has always spoken her mind on social media, a stance that hasn’t always gone well with followers. In mid-June she announced she would be leaving Instagram and Twitter after the trolls became too much, but returned to both platforms 24 hours later.

From her latest tweet, it doesn’t sound as Lovato will be quitting or canceling anything. After wrapping up her tour with Joe Jonas last week, all that she has left on her calendar is a celebrity cruise, but apparently 2017 will offer her some time to relax, unwind and unplug.
